The Community Action Agency of Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Calhoun & Cleburne Counties(CAATCRCC) Head Start Program is a kindergarten readiness program that strives to do just what “Head Start” implies – giving each child a Head Start or good start toward school success. It is also a free preschool program designed to help children do well in school and promote their social, physical, and emotional development.
Our Mission Statement: To change people's lives by providing services to children and families in the communities we serve, and perform our responsibilities with joy and a positive attitude.
Our Purpose: To provide a quality pre-school program for eligible, low income, 3-5 year olds, including children with disabilities.
Our Philosophy: We believe that our staff is concerned about the total welfare of the children; that staff and parents must work together to meet special needs of each child and to fulfill the goals of the program. Planned age appropriate learning activities are presented individually, in interested centers, in small and large groups and for total class participation to accommodate the different levels of development. We also believe that our children become more excited and are better achievers when parents demonstrate an interest and concern in activities. There are many opportunities for parents to become involved in every aspect of our program.
The Community Action Agency of Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Calhoun & Cleburne Counties(CAATCRCC) Head Start Program is rooted in the belief that each child is a unique individual who learns and develops according to his/her own physical and emotional capabilities as well as cultural and environmental experiences at his/her own rate. The philosophy behind our cirricculum is that young children learn best through play and by doing. We believe that learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn first-hand about the world they live in.
